Keen observation is the foundation of the work of both Maria Montessori and Sofia Cavalleti. Thanks to their humble willingness to learn from the child, these women have helped us to see who the child is, as well as the child's spirtual gifts and needs.

The discipline of observation is one we must continue. The individual responses we collect from our atriums help us know the children we are serving. When responses from child across the world are collected, these responses have the ability to teach us even more about the nature of childhood. The Center for Children and Theology maintains a database of art, responses and prayers of children. With the use of keywords, we can "ask" the database for a collection of responses related to a theme or presentation. Looking at these responses as a group may help us deepen our understanding of the mysteries of the child and God.
